HARRISBURG — Rep. Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) today voted against a $47.6 billion state budget proposal. In response, she has issued the following statement:

“I will not support a budget that puts an additional and unnecessary financial burden on the residents of District 94. When the state continues to spend more than it has, we set everyone up for massive tax increases in the very near future. This budget will see the state’s reserves and Rainy Day Fund depleted in two years.

“I have constituents who are losing their homes to ever-rising property taxes, and some who cannot afford food and medication because of skyrocketing inflation. These are necessities.

“I will not support overspending. State government does not need new programs that create recurring expenses and more bloat. Some of these programs may seem good, but the money to pay for them will come directly from the pockets of Pennsylvania taxpayers who are already struggling with the cost of living. Our children and their grandchildren will be left to pay for the mistakes made today.”

Questions about the 2024-25 state budget or any other state-related issue should be directed to Fink’s office at 717-244-9232.
