York County House, Senate Republicans Bring Home $2.2 Million in Community Grant Funds

HARRISBURG – The York County Republican delegation to the House and Senate announced that they helped secure $2.2 million in grant funding for communities across the county. The delegation is comprised of Sens. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) and Mike Regan (R-York/Cumberland) and Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover), Kate Klunk (R-Hanover), Dawn Keefer (R-Dillsburg), Mike Jones (R-York Township) Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) and Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester).
“The grants awarded today will help fund an assortment of projects, including infrastructure improvements, community safety, transportation upgrades and increased recreational options,” said the members. “We want to thank the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for recognizing the importance of these projects.”
Grants were awarded through CFA programs. The Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF), which provides grant funding to ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to all Pennsylvanians. The Local Share Account (LSA) is funded by gaming revenue and is used to improve the quality of life of citizens.
Funding awarded to entities in York County is as follows:
• $783,750 to Glen Rock Borough from the MTF for streetscape improvements along Main Street.
• $233,500 to West Manchester Township from the MTF for intersection improvements at Lincoln Highway and Salem Church Road.
• $125,925 to Carroll Township from the LSA fund to purchase three new police vehicles.
• $100,000 to Dallastown Borough from the LSA fund for a new truck and sewer inspection equipment to help with its maintenance responsibilities.
• $125,925 to Fairview Township from the LSA fund for the purchase of three police vehicles.
• $106,459 to Felton Borough from the LSA fund for improvements to Church Lane.
• $76,967 to Hallam Borough from the LSA fund to purchase a new pick-up truck with a snowplow conversion kit, spill guard kit and rearview camera kit, as well as a rotary cutter and rock grapple attachments for its tractor.
• $156,312 to Heidelberg Township from the LSA fund to construct and install an emergency generator, 340 linear feet of perimeter fencing, a vehicle gate, and lighting at a well facility.
• $164,950 to Manchester Borough from the LSA fund to purchase a bucket truck.
• $54,100 to New Freedom Borough from the LSA fund to purchase and install a 125kW emergency generator to serve the Rose Fire Company and the New Freedom Community Center, which houses the Southern York County Senior Center.
• $25,545 to Windsor Borough from the LSA fund to complete improvements to the borough building.
• $69,658 to the York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of Bell Socialization, from the LSA fund to purchase an accessible van in Penn Township.
• $27,136 to the York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of Northern Central Railway of York, from the LSA fund to purchase a wheelchair lift and replace mobile stairs at its historic train station in New Freedom.
• $108,138 to the York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of TrueNorth, to complete security updates to facilities in York City and Hanover Borough.
• $54,592 to the York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of YMCA of the Roses, from the LSA fund to purchase exercise equipment for its new facility in Jackson Township.
